Hi

I have a site which is running DNN3.2.2 (with many 3rd party modules, so don't want to take the chance on upgrading as the site has been live for sometime) and SQL server 2000.

I've recently moved servers (I'm in the UK) and for all the rest of my sites I'm running DNN4 and SQL 2005. The  DNN3.2.2 site is now using a shared SQL 2000 server but the time is US and not UK which I need, so I need to move it again to a UK server.

Is it possible to run DNN3.2.2, detach the 2000 database and re-attach it to MS SQL 2005?

Any help much appreciated!

Cheers

Mark

Yes, take a look at this msdn article:http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189625.aspx

Although I didn't migrate from SQL 2000, I'm running a site with DNN 3.2.2 and SQL 2005 and it's great!

cheers,
Rose

Yes its possible to do so.

You will probably get an other problem though. As you change db language you maybee get a problem in one of the srored procedures for shedued jobs that asumes that the db are the same as default for the server.

You can change the stored procedure so it works. I dont remember what  procedure for the moment and I dont know if it is changed in the releases after. If you need it I can look for the information.

Thanks for the replies I'm going to give this a go. Can I ask did you just change the following line in the web config to connect to the 2005 database:

<add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=(local);uid=user;pwd=pass;database=database" />

I'm going to try this. I'll let you know what happens.

Thanks

Yes, you'll have to modify that line if any of those variables change.

Good luck with the migration!
