Hi all,

I have a few questions I haven't been able to find elsewhere that I'm not having any luck finding elsewhere, so I thought I would post the questions here.

1) Can DotNetNuke integrate with a table in another SQL Server database for account information? (eg. I have a table that stores loginIDs & passwords that I wish to remain using. Can DotNetNuke pull the login information from this table?)

2) Can I publish a single piece of content to multiple instances of DotNetNuke? (eg. I have a module containing a list of press releases. Can I push this to a public facing website as well as an internal portal and have the appropriate CSSs massage it into the right look/feels on each).

I'm pretty sure the answer for each is "yes" but I would like a definitive answer if any of you can offer one.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not DNN professional, but the answer to both of your questions is yes. The key is you need to be familiar with both the code-behind and SQL. For example, you can always modify the stored procedures associated with any module to perform the same tasks on multiple Databases or (DNN instances).

this is possible, but not out of the box. you will need to create your own membership provider or use a 3rd party module for this (AFAIR there is one at dnnmasters.com)

you can either use RSS to consume the news from one site to the other or use a module with free database access like SQLGridSelectedView from Paul Scarlett. Please notice, that this module might add a security risk if there are other users able to add it to a page and configure db access.
