Hello,

I'm wondering what options I have in password protecting pages while still showing them in the menu.  The DNN page settings options only control the visibilty of the items; I want to be able to click on a password protected item as an unregistered user, and be prompted by a logon module.

The only other option I have found is on each page I want protected, to set the visibilty of each module to Registered/Unregistered visibilties.  This is not a viable solution for the end client, and can become annoying when having multiple modules on each page.

Anyone have any ideas?

One way I did this was to create a top level page that links to another page.  This gives the user a Menu Navigation without the apperance the the page is locked until they click on it.

Page 1 is top level page.  Permissions are all users have read access.
Page 2 is a child of Page 1.  Permissions are restricted to a certain group, and it is hidden so there is no menu navigation other than the link from Page 1.

Page 1 settings are to redirect to Page 2 which prompts the users to logon and after logon if the user has permissions they are able to see the page.   All modules on Page 2 inherit permissions from the Page 2.

Thanks for the replay simonduz.

I have been using this as a temporary solution, but we are going to need something a little more efficient for the long haul.  Right now we are modifying the code in the telerik menu controls to see if we can make something a little more user friendly.
