To fix it, after dissabling the Whitespacefilter setting you should do an IISReset or restart the application. This setting seems to be cached somehow.

I had this problem also. I changed the regex for the whitespace to a less aggressive one that Mariette had posted at Ventrian.com.

(?<=[>])\s{2,}(?=[<])|(?<=[>])\s{2,}(?= )|(?<= )\s{2,}(?=[<])

This fixed the issue i was having with captcha and the repository module.

Disabling the Whitespace and Restsrting the Application worked for me. DNN 4.04.00
