He everybody.

I have just created a fresh DNN v4.05 project on a webserver with german locales. I have installed the announcement module v03.04.00.

When placing the module on a page I'll get the following error:

Error: Announcements is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: connectionString ---> System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: connectionString at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.ExecuteReader(String connectionString, String spName, Object[] parameterValues) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Announcements.SqlDataProvider.GetCurrent(Int32 ModuleId, DateTime StartDate) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Announcements.AnnouncementsController.GetCurrentAnnouncements(Int32 ModuleId, DateTime StartDate) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Announcements.Announcements.BindData() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Announcements.Announcements.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I have already reinstalled the module several times and also have restarted the application. All with the same result. The virtual directory is configured to .net v2.

Does anybody have an idea whats going on ? Within the error message it states that a DateTime function is called. Is this a regional settings / locale problem ?

Thanks in advance,

Tom.

did you check whether you set a value for the legacy connection string in web.config?

Hi Erik,

thanks for your reply. Sometimes one is simply blind or it's just too late. The second connect string in the web.config file was still commented out. After fixing that everything works just fine !

Sorry for the trouble, I'll promise too a) drink more coffee or b) take more sleep ;-)

Regards, Tom.
