problem with Select Case in module

Hi. I having this error im the annoucements module

Option Strict On disallows operands of type Object for operator '='. Use the 'Is' operator to test for object identity, In the code

If IsEditable Then

lstAnnouncements.DataSource = announcements.GetCurrentAnnouncements(ModuleId, datStartDate)

lstAnnouncements.DataSource = announcements.GetExpiredAnnouncements(ModuleId)

lstAnnouncements.DataSource = announcements.GetAnnouncements(ModuleId, Now, Null.NullDate)

lstAnnouncements.DataSource = announcements.GetAnnouncements(ModuleId, Null.NullDate, Null.NullDate)

Select Case [Enum].Parse(GetType(viewTypes), Me.ddlViewType.SelectedValue)Case viewTypes.CurrentCase viewTypes.ExpiredCase viewTypes.FutureCase viewTypes.AllEnd Select

Else

lstAnnouncements.DataSource = announcements.GetCurrentAnnouncements(ModuleId, datStartDate)

End If

Can help me. I tried to make this with If but get the same error. Thanks.

You'll need to cast the value returned from [Enum].Parse to type viewTypes:

Select Case CType([Enum].Parse(GetType(viewTypes), Me.ddlViewType.SelectedValue), viewTypes)
