I would like to automatically send out an email to all people in a particular user group whenever a new annouement is posted. Is this possible?

this is not possible with the core Announcement module. You will need to create that functionality for yourself, or find a commercial module that can do that

Did you ever find a solution to this or find a good commercial module that does this?  I have been asked for the same thing.  It seems kind of redundant, I mean if you are going to send everyone an email that there is a new announcement, why not just send the announcement in email?  But I am just the IT guy and my vote doesn't count.  lol

Please send a suggestion if you have found one!!

Thanks!!!
