I can't find a way to download the source code of Announcement module. Isn't this module open source? I've googled for 'dnn "announcement module" source' but didn't find an answer. Can anyone guide me to better information?

Thanks,
Ilia

If you downloaded the source for either DotNetNuke 3.2.2 or 4.0.2, you will find the source under DesktopModules, Announcements.  Or you can get the 3.1.0 source for Announcements, here http://dotnetnuke.com/Default.aspx?tabid=926.

I'm having the same problem.  I looked under DesktopModules\Announcements, as well as in the source download on the project's download page.

I do not see any .vb files in either location.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Ah yes, it is a little counterintuitive.  You will find that inside the source folder there is a file called DNN_Announcements.resourcesThis is actually a zip file containing the source code.  So if you simply change the extension from .resources to .zip then you can extract it and get to the source files you need.

If you download the DNN source, then I believe you'll be able to find the source packages for all the core modules at DotNetNukeRoot\Install\Module\ where DotNetNukeRoot is your DotNetNuke folder (e.g. DotNetNuke_3.2.2_Source).
