In the announcement module, it there a way to chnage the "Read More" text to something else in one instance of the module without changing it for every instance?

Hi,

Im having an issue with the Add New Announcement option.

I have created a group called "Announcers" and a role in the group called "Announcer Admin"

In the announcement module settings i have given the Announcer Admin role Edit access to the module.

When a user with announcer admin access logs on and goes to the announcement page, the Pencil icon appears to edit the current post but the Add New Announcement option is not visible at the bottom of the module.

Can anyone see what is wrong from what i have said above? Is this a setting somewhere i do not know about?

I am quite new to DNN!

I just had this exact same problem and I found what I think is a bug in this module. (DNN 4.9.0, Module-Announcement 4.00.01)

In my case, I had the "Display Container" unchecked for the module settings, and then those with edit access could not see the "Add new announcement" link.

Once I checked "Display Container", they could see it properly.

Can you confirm whether you also have the container display turned off when you see this behavior?

Bob

Hi guys,

I had the same problem.
DNN core v4.8.4, announcement module v04.00.03 (latest)
My problem was as such: I created role for editing Announcements on particular page called News and asigned that role to user who needs to add/edit announcements. But when loging as that user I could not see pencil near the announcements items and no command Add New Announcement on the bottom of the module.
But found solution.
--------------------------------------------------
Problem when asign Role to Announcement module with edit permition.
Solution:
1) Create user xxx if it doesn't exists
2) Create role Managers
3) Asign Managers role to user xxx

Go to annoucement module on particular page, add permision to edit module for role Managers
Save

Login as user xxx
go to annoucement (news) page, if you still can't edit announcements:
1) Logoff
2) Login as admin again
3) add role administrators to user xxx and save, logoff
4) login as user xxx, you will be able to see admin control panel on top
5) expand control panel
6) Select Mode as Edit (by default it was View)
7) logoff and login as admin again, remove administrators role from user xxx
8) login as xxx, now you should be able to edit announcements' items
--------------------------------------------------

I hope it will be helpful to someone
I haven't try yet with newer DNN core. Maybe DNN 4.9.4 has no such issues
