 HI
I need to have content in the Description token displayed to the left of the date and title but this does not seem to be possible no matter how I change the template.
Token changes all work but no layout control?  It seems as if the layout is hard coded?

A bit of an issue given the massive space each entry seems to use.

Thanks

Ian

not sure what you are talking about. in the current version of the announcements module (04.00.01), you can manage layout completely by yourself. Check this post for an example on what you can do with the Announcements templating: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryId/1841/What-you-can-do-with-Module-templates.aspx

 HI Erik

Thanks for the quick response.

I meant that using 40.0.01 a template that attempts   TITLE - DATE - DESCRIPTION   actually renders
TITLE - DATE
DESCRIPTION

I need it all on one line but the layout uses two lines regardless of if the token are in a simple P tag or tables.   Not tried a table-less template yet.
(I have left out the square brackets in case they cause this post to be truncated).

Hope this clarifies.

Ian

you dont have to use tables, in fact, if you want everything on one line, drop the tables. Internally, the module uses a repeater, so you can put anything you like in the templates... its really just basic html ... you can try to use firebug to look at the actual output of the module and modify your template accordingly

 HI Erik

Yes I do understand that is a data repeater and that it is simple html used in the templates.
The problem is that even just  [TITLE] - [DATE] - [DESCRIPTION]  with no other templaste code at all still renders the description text on a second line.

Sorry but I cannot see how this is normal behaviour - If I modify an Events module or a ventrian module template I get the layout I expect.
With the announcements module I do not.

(Yes do also understandf that I can spend even more time using firbug)

Ian
