I am experiencing a strange date problem on the syndication feed produced from the announcements module, and wondered if someone might be able to shed some light on it. I don't believe this to be a problem with the announcements module (although i'm not 100%) so apologise if i'm posting this in the wrong place but would be very grateful for any assistance.

My problem is that the date shown within the announcments module (PublishDate) is correct, however the date shown on the rss feed (syndicated from the same module) is wrong (over a month ago); in fact, all publish dates on the announcements module are different from one another, however the dates shown for the same articles on the rss feed is the same date (17/12/2010).

I have found that if I run the following SQL:

truncate table {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}SearchItemWordPosition
DELETE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}SearchItemWord
DELETE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}SearchWord
DELETE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}SearchItem

And re-index the search, all dates shown in the rss feed correspond with the publish dates shown in the announcements module .... however .... the next time the Search Engine Scheduler is run, the rss dates revert back to 17/12/2010 !

I guess my main question is, where does the date shown in the rss feed come from? And is there a way that I can force the rss feeds to show the correct published date from the announcements module. HELP! It's driving me nuts!

usually the date should be obtained from searchitem table. What date is listed inside?

Thanks Sebastian, the SearchItem table shows 17/12/2010 for all related entries. If I change this date to the correct Announcements pubdate one, the RSS feed then looks fine (ie. showing the correct pub date), however when the Search Engine Scheduler is next run, it overwrites the dates again with 17/12/2010. Do you know what the search engine scheduler routine runs and where it may get populate the dates from? Thanks.

this seems to be an issue of iSearchable implementation in Announcement module.

I am struggling with this. Where would I find the implementation of SearchItemInfo? It looks like either the copying of this object fails or the constructor is being called incorrectly.
