Possible upgrade bug in installation of annoucements module in DNN 4.3.3 install (source)...

When upgrading DNN 4.3.2 to DNN 4.3.3 (source version) error below happens when displaying an existing container or when putting a new container on a page.

Note annoucements 03.03.01 appears to be installed properly.

Workaround is to download/upload the module manually (I installed 3.03.02).

Hope this is of help.

Cheers

Alex

the original 4.3.3. release of DNN contained the wrong 03.03.04 version of the Announcements version, this has been fixed. The problem you describe might be caused by a wrong installation file. Please try to install 03.03.04 by hand (you can download it seperately from the project download page)

cheers,

Erik

Thanks for your help Erik. Yes I did in fact install the module seperately and it worked (see original post).

In addition I upgraded another DNN installation from 4.0.3 to 4.3.3 today, I downloaded the 4.3.3 DNN installation again and it worked first time.

Cheers

Alex

I'm getting almost the same error, but i'm not sure it is related becuase i'm using DNN 5.5.1.

The module displays fine when i'm in Edit mode, but in View mode i get this:
Error: Announcements is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: The file '/develop/DesktopModules/Announcements/Announcements.ascx' does not exist. ---> System.Web.HttpException: The file '/develop/DesktopModules/Announcements/Announcements.ascx' does not exist. at System.Web.UI.Util.CheckVirtualFileExists(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile, Boolean throwIfNotFound, Boolean ensureIsUpToDate) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile, Boolean throwIfNotFound, Boolean ensureIsUpToDate) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResult(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile, Boolean ensureIsUpToDate) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.UI.ControlUtilities.LoadControl[T](TemplateControl containerControl, String ControlSrc) in C:\CCNet_Builds\CE_Development\WorkingDirectory\Library\UI\ControlUtilities.vb:line 61 at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.ModuleHost.LoadModuleControl() in C:\CCNet_Builds\CE_Development\WorkingDirectory\Library\UI\Modules\ModuleHost.vb:line 229 --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

any ideas?
