Hi all,

I'm exporting a handful of announcements from one DNN435 to another. The file is there once I've syncronised the file manage to make it show up on the dropdown list.

It appears to import, but then nothing shows up.. no error, no announcements. .. and even if it did import, I'd be asking why it didn't export with the entire portal like most other content did?.. is it just not yet ready for that?

Any ideas?

Rob

Hi Erik,

I've been playing with it further... I've added the 4 announcements manually to the new 4.35. Strangely, when I log out, they vanish altogether. The permissions are all correct.. When log back in, the announcements return. Very odd.

The source site was a 3.10 upgraded to 4.03 to 4.34 and now to 4.35. I did this in order to export the site to a fresh DNN 4.3.5 where I am running a few portals.

Everything exported nicely except the Announcements. That's why I then exported them manually... which isn't working.

Any ideas are much appreciated,

Rob

ok.. confusing.. the manually added announcements are there after all when I'm logged out. Not sure what happened earlier, but they vanished when I logged out.. now they're there.

The export/import definitely didn't work though. I tried it a few times. Is it correct that it did not export along with the rest of the portal's content.. or shouldeven that have worked?

Right... here's a clue as to what happened:

I've just been transferring the whole thing from the development site over to my carefully managed live site. The same thing happened - no Announcements... but I expected that.

Then I set about entering them manually again. Finally I went into the module settings and fixed up the template.

Then I clicked on that box to show future updates thikning that the client might quite like that.

This time when I went back to the main page, there were endless copies of the same announcements. Presumably both the ones I exported from the module and I guess also ones that were exported along with the entire portal?

So, that's where the problem lies.. for some reason all of the exported announcements have been dated "Monday, January 01, 0001" when they were imported... making them invisible until I click on that box.

This must be a bug :)
