The latest version of DNN automatically adds the publish date to the end of the heading text.  In previous versions, there used to be a checkbox where the date could be excluded.  For my purposes, I want to create announcements, but it is irrelevant what the publish date is.  In fact, I want my announcements to be published immediately.  My announcements are for meetings and shows in the future, but I want this info to be available long before the date of the event.  Maybe I should not be using this module for this purpose.  Ideas?

If I'm not mistaken, there is a Template setting under the Settings -> Announcement settings for each Ann. module. You can simply erase the part that you dislike - i.e the [PUBLISH DATE]

Yes there is a template available in the settings section. Is anyone using the Publish Date by default. This seems to really confuse people. Where is that template maintained so I can change it by default so the Publish Date is not there? I can't seem to find it in the db.

Is published date localised ??? It seems that some core modules do not handle the time correctly. See my post concerning this specific topic.

yes, the publish date is localized, however, if you have issues with it being not localized, you might check whether this is caused by module caching.
