Then what is the proper way to have the text editor appear as though it is single spacing between lines rather than double spacing?

Is there a CSS to edit.

In word the lines appear like this:
Line 1
Line 2

In IE the lines appear like this:
Line 1

Line 2

sure, it depends on your styles

  • applied to content pane of your container for displaying css (usually set in your skin/container)
  • applied to editor area of fckEditor (default set by FCK, editable using admin editor options)

Hello Sebastian,

One of our web updaters is having trouble where a paragraph is created instead of a new line.  She is not "IT" so she uses the Rich Text Editor.  When she tries to create a new line by holding <Shift> and hitting <Enter>, a new paragraph is created.  However, other users can do the same thing to the very same content, and they are able to create a new line.

Changes that she makes in the Basic Text Box using HTML (with my guidance!) save correctly, but she needs to be able to work with the Rich Text Editor.

Do you know what the solution to this would be?  A setting on her computer?  I'm at a loss, as both users are in the same security group on the website, so their permissions are identical.

Leanne,
which richtext editor is being used on your website and which DNN version?
Does this happen in all browsers?

Hi Sebastian,

We are using DNN version 7.0.5, and the problem seems to be with Explorer 11...it works on Google Chrome.  How can I determine which RichText editor is being used?

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Leanne
