Hi Everyone,

Hi Guys, I just used the FCKEditor video tutorial (http://www.dnncreative.com/) to install and use FCKEditor on our DNN site. Although this was successful (in terms of setting FCK as the default) We want to use the default html editor as the default and only the FCKEditor in certain circumstances.

To add the FCKEditor control to our articles module (EditArticleList.ascx) (instead of the FTB) i :

1) - Registered a tag prefix for the dll <%@ Register TagPrefix="FCKeditorV2" Namespace="FredCK.FCKeditorV2" Assembly="FredCK.FCKeditorV2" %>

2) - Use the control as follows:

<FCKeditorV2:FCKeditor id="FCKeditor2" BasePath="~\Providers\HtmlEditorProviders\Ftb3HtmlEditorProvider\" runat="server" />

I found these instructions at: http://wiki.fckeditor.net/Developer%27s_Guide/Integration/ASP.Net

Currently i'm not sure whether i need to add a file to the controls folder such as FCKEditor and then register it like : <%@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="TextEditor" Src="~/controls/FCKEditor.ascx"%> or whether I should be able to override the default editor at the page level.

I hope I am not repeating a question. Please note that I have endevioured to hunt though past posts.

Please help !

Paul

By design, there is some code not allowing using different editors at this time. I want to change it when possible as I am assigned to the task of enhancements to the editor base class. (Not saying that there is not a workaround, but it could be more difficult and can involve some coding)

This new feature is still being discussed and I think it will come on the next releases after 4.5

Hi Locopon,

Firstly, thanks for the reply. You guys are all awesome :) Thats fine that there is not a known work-around. I assume from what you said that; once the default editor is set in web.config, you are 'locked' into using that editor unless a workaround is written? If you do find one however, could you please post back here ?

Thanks in advance,

Paul
