Yesterday we upgraded to dnn 4.5. It works fine but the old HTML-provider (ftb3htmlEditorProvider) is still the default provider. It looks like the fckhtmlEditorProvider is installed but not in use.

How do I make fckEditor to default provider?

Edit your web.config and change the defaultProvider setting from Ftb3HtmlEditorProvider to FckHtmlEditorProvider. Make sure you have the entry:

<add name="FckHtmlEditorProvider" ...

in the <providers> section. If not, copy if from the web.config in the 4.5 install package.

I also did an upgrade... same result. So I figure out that the DNN4.5 Upgrade package don't include the new HTML/text, so.. I download the Install version, unziped, and locate the module in .../Install/Modules/HTML_04.05.00_Install.zip

Once downloaded, I update the module in the portal (Host->Module Definitions....)

The online editor is not the same as the text/html module

The FCKeditor provider is installed to allow DNN modules to use FCKeditor. The text/html module only uses the installed editor.

If you upgraded to 4.5 then the FCKeditor provider is already installed and you only need to configure is as the dafault editor (Upgrades don't change default editor). Follow the second post in this thread

locopon you are right... I got confuse. The HTML/Text module need to be updated manually after upgrade...

The system showed that the HTML/Text version was 3.03 instead of 4.05 after the upgrade from dnn 4.4.1 to dnn 4.5.0. So I apply the newest HTML module

Cheers,

Alfonso
