Alright, I've just about given up on using this. I have read every documentation I can find, asked a couple friends to look over it, and I still can't get fck editor to work properly in IE. I have edited the web.config to use spellerpages, the fckconfig.js file, the spellchecker.php file, etc.. and I guess I'm just looking for some guidance.. Maybe something I may have missed? Thanks for your input guys.

Please post more info about what you are trying to accomplish. As you can see, FCKeditor works fine on this site and IE

I may be assuming but i think he is referring to the spell checking ablility. This is based on him talking about spellerpages. (And the spellchecking is not enabled on DotNetNuke seeing how the icon is greyed out.) I have been looking for straightforward documentation on how to enable either one on the server and what has to be done. As near as i can tell IEspell is commercial for a business/non profit site so i would have to go with spellchecker (the open source one)

It doesn't seem as simple as the fckeditor site states in changing the one config line

FCKConfig.SpellChecker = 'SpellerPages' ;

So, if anyone has a blog to enable spellchecking with Fckeditor and DNN it would be greatly appriciated (and i hope they don't point at DNNCreative.
97$ for a membership seems a bit much for one answer. (depnds on how much i really want that answer i guess.)

You can see this problem with your eyes going to http://www.vivointoscana.it After Log in with user 'test' password 'test' the 'test' tab appear, here you can find a text/html module where test user is enable to edit. Try to edit it with Firefox and Explorer. How you will see with Firefox all work fine and with IE no! Hope this could be helpful to find a solution. Regards

Ok, maybe between the two of us we can get this working. I looked at your site and you have the same problem I ran into today trying to get this working. The SpellerPages requires 2 file downloads from this location http://aspell.net/win32/ , you need the full installer and a dictionary. I ran the installer and loaded the English dictionary on my dotnetnuke server.

The main problem I had was with the web.config file, there are two FCKconfig.js files in the Fck folder.

  1. Providers\HtmlEditorProviders\Fck\Custom\fckconfig.js
  2. Providers\HtmlEditorProviders\Fck\FCKeditor\fckconfig.js

The web.config is pointing to the js file in the Custom folder so that's the file you need to modify (FCKConfig.SpellChecker   = 'SpellerPages' ; // 'ieSpell' | 'SpellerPages') and (spellCheck="SpellerPages").

I can now get the spell checker dialog to open up but the html doesn't display in it. So I've still got some more to figure out, time to quit for the night and hit it again tomorrow. Hope this helps you.

Regards, Burl
