As the new release is taking so much to be public, I will post an unofficial version of the same provider as a beta version

http://dnn.tiendaboliviana.com/FckHtmlEditorProvider_02.00.03_Beta.zip

Please take into account that it is still being reviewed at DNN and we recoment it to be tried in a test site.

As you may read in the forums, DNN 4.x has a problem in the way the profile system manages postback and this creates a problem when the editor provider is clearing some content. The result is a double html encoded content. Provider version 02.00.03 has a workaround for this (not a fix because it is a DNN problem) by adding support to disable the htmlencodeinput flag per instance of the provider.

Hope this helps and please post your findings here

I've downloaded the beta, installed per the instructions, restarted DotNetNuke, closed and reopened my browser.  Actually I have done this on two 4.9.0 sites, and I get the same sad results.

Unfortunately, I have to report that this makes no difference with regard to the rich text fields in the User Profile (biography).

Are there any suggestions?

Fixed!

I found this in another thread:

In the file Providers\HtmlEditorProviders\Fck\Custom\fckconfig.js
Change FCKConfig.HtmlEncodeOutput = true ;
To
FCKConfig.HtmlEncodeOutput = false ;

Save,
Close your browser to dump the cache and try again.

Applying that change, efter installing the beta, fixed the problem.

Cheers!

None of these solutions work.  No matter what, the FCKeditorAPI is undefined error still occurs.

from what I can the Fckconfig.js file isn't even being referenced in the page (when I look at the page source).

any ideas?  what gives?
