I did new DNN v4.9.2 installation using SQL server with machine collation set to _CS_AS. Database collation is _CI_AS. I know that this is currently unsupported scenario and minor problem (according to relevant core team member), but I corrected every script I found it has errors and now I have “almost” working DNN instance. The only component I found is not working is FCKEditor. Current situation is as follows:

• Select Text Module-> Edit Text menu item
• On Edit Text/HTML page is missing (not shown) Rich Text Editor control.
• On the page load it gets some script errors: first – Unterminated string constant, next – FCKBrowserInfo is undefined, … , FCKTools is undefined, FCKLang is undefined, … (this happens on my dev machine with javascript debug enabled)
• I can switch to Basic Text Box – it works.
• I can edit custom editor options (link Show custom editor options)
• No relevant events in event viewer

The behavior is the same for Edit User Accounts dialog, Newsletters dialog … etc. I hope someone in this forum can help …
 

Yes, I know, Sebastian. I just described current situation and behavior. I found many similar symptoms described here in the forum but no solution. Maybe someone knows more than me.

It seems that the first error “Unterminated string constant” is caused with new line characters within string constant, see fckeditor.html line 44. I change the multiline html code so it appears on one line (removed line breaks) and bump – it works.
I am wondering why this causes problems on one machine and on another don’t?
