I have established a Report Server on the same physical server as the IIS running DNN.  I have a report that includes an Image (Binary JPEG File Column) that executes correctly within the Report Server.

However, when I attempt to execute this report using the Report Server option of Reporting module, I get an error that starts with "Client found response content type of 'text/html; charset=utf-8', but expected 'text/xml'. "

Not sure what I am doing wrong ... any hints here .. I was under the assumption that standard reports can be executed directly OR must the reference be only to the .rdl files.  If so, how does the report module expect data for the reference to the report file?

Thanks for any help ....

Hans

The "Client found response content type of 'text/html; charset=utf-8', but expected 'text/xml'. error often happens when you make a web service call and there is an ASP.NET error, which returns the "yellow screen of death" to your web service caller (reporting services uses web services).  So you should be looking for something that causes the web services call to fail - probably a security exception.

The best place to look is in the reporting services log files.

Anthony,

Thanks for your hint ... you were correct - sort of.  I did not realize that the module requires the user of the Report Server (http://localhost/ReportServer) rather than the services at  http://localhost/Reports!

But the entry in the log states that the Web SErvice cold not locate the /reports/ReportExecution2005.asmx file, which is part of the ReportServer.

Regards,

Hans
