I am working on adding some reports modules to our site. I need the viewer to be able to input a date range before the report is run and I am not successful in finding the right syntax. I am connecting to a SQL Server database.

I've hunted on the forum and the web for answers. The Report Module's "Online Help" button does nothing (and I've tried several browsers in case it was browser related).

Can someone point me in the right direction so I can get this working?

Thanks!

Debbie, I use a Dynamic Forms module to present report input options and gather user choices to show on the report. I put the module above the report module or even on another page or in a pop-up. I give the form instructions to go to the url of the report page and put the user's choices in the URL as querystring parameters. Then, in the settings of the report you tell it to expect and get those parameters and pass them to your report's SQL as stored procedure parameters. Many other forms designers would work as well, including Action Forms, Mandeeps Live Forms and others, even the built-in Form &List module.

Also if your user's choices are simple, you could drop the forms idea and simply give them a few links to choose from in an html module. The URL parameters can be typed into the link in the href section. For example, [a href="/MyReportPage.aspx?Department=HR" ]

In this example, the parameter is the word Department and it's value is HR.
Put a question mark once at the end of the url and put your parameters and values after that.

Hope that gets you going in the right direction.
