Hi,

I've just started getting into DNN a month or so ago and with all the talk about the DNN Community, I wanted to see whether there were active ones in my local areas, Maryland and Washington, D.C. (by extension, Northern Virginia too). I see there are group pages but barely a soul has touched them. I know the forums have been down awhile but I'm also concerned with what little activity is on the User Group board. I'd love to meet other DNNers in my area and maybe even organize something if it comes down to that.

So... hello...

Hey Adrian...

It's awesome that you are engaging with the community. This is where true power comes from in open source communities like ours - through participation. :)

There was an active user group in your area, but the user group leader couldn't continue to run the group and unfortunately no one stepped up to take over. There were members that were coming from as far away as PA to attend the meetings in DC. You have a lot of active DNN community folks in your area.

Well I guess I'm young and energetic enough that I would at least like to try to pick this group back up. Find a place to meet, grab a bite, do presentations, discuss the latest in DNN skinning and module design... in theory it doesn't sound so hard. Sounds fun and educational. ... If I knew where to start.
