Ok I can confirm that after I install the Store module it takes 4 times as long to do a full compile of the site.

Ok.

At least I'm not alone...

but i meant to the time it takes from launching the site (typing http://localhost/dotnetnuke_2) till we see the home page. and then also

when cliking on the login skinobject till we see the login control - this is taking VERY VERY long time -

is that what you meant ?

Are you running your Application Pool in Integrated Pipeline mode?

I had my DNN running that way for a day and quickly went back to classic mode.  I noticed it took forever for DNN to build and run.  Also vbc.exe would spike to 100% cpp usage and often stay there for a good few minutes.

Moving back to a classic app pool resolved everything almost immediatly.

I have been having trouble in Visual Studio occasionally as well.  What I do to speed up visual studio is delete the following folder : C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0  . I then restart Visual Studio and back to normal speed.

I have logged many issues with connect.microsoft.com - ironically in July 2006 I posted about VS2005 and performance issues. You can guess what I was working on - DotNetNuke and Store module!

I spent a good 6 months on that monster and finally gave up. The project needs some serious affection and effort to make it work, IMHO it needs major refactoring and design changes.
