Hi.

I'm new to DotNetNuke and would like a couple of pointers on how the DotNetNuke framework renders "ascx" user controls.

I have a situation where the in the "Edit" view, my user controls render correctly and all the references to the Javascript modules exists.   However, when I switch to the "View" view, the page does not rendered correctly and the references to the javascript seems to be missing.  Specifically, in the in the user control I added a "MultiView"  "Menu" control programmatically and the "Menu" "Menu_HoverStatic" javascript seems to fall by the wayside.

I've had a similar problem where the "Render" method of the user control was supposed to remove text from the HTML stream.  In the "Edit" view, the page is rendered correctly and the text is removed, but in the "View" view the text still exists.

If anyone has encountered similiar problems, and resolved these issues, please advise me on a possible way forward.

Regards

JohnDoeSmith...

I have never run into these problems but I (almost never) programmatically add controls to the page. I just turn their visibility on and off.

This is also helpful when looking at the code later. It is easier to remember what is going on if you can open the .ascx page and see what controls are on the page even if most of them are hidden most of the time.
