Hi,

I have been trying to implement a functionality, where user will be prompted a modal popup to login to the site.

I still have Login/Register links. But I dont want to redirect them to Login page and then redirect back to same page.

So far, what I did is added a modalpopup to my module and then placed /admin/Authentication/Login.ascx in the modal window.

This is so far good, as I can login from the modal popup, but after that  (after successfull login) I get NullPointerexception in Login.ascx.vb code at the following line

If Not DotNetNuke.Security.Permissions.TabPermissionController.HasTabPermission("EDIT") Then
                        ContainerControl.Visible = False
End If

I dont know what I am doing wrong or it is bypassing some initialization.

Can anyone throw some light?

If you are manually placing login.ascx into modal popup you would possibly wind up with some problems.

The error you are seeing is caused by the login control looking for a reference to the parent container which would normally be associated with the control when it was displayed as part of a dnn page - that is the SKIN / CONTAINER that would hold the login module at runtime.

Since you are manually inserting the login control into your own modal form that container will not exist.

Westa
