Dear members,

I am developing one module to managem publications and other catalogs in my org. I have one text box and button which lets user search the publications.

When I am logged in as host or admin, My search function works, but if I am not logged in, it does not work.

I have followed the code from user search of user account module (users.ascx.vb).

I have no idea where to look for this error. I tried to debug it. I noticed that when I am not logged in, the event handler for Search button is not getting executed.

Thanks in advance.

SID

I'm just throwing this out here because I remember seeing a post with some similar behavior (admin works, else no) and the problem was that there was a cache time. Try setting cache to zero?

This is a random suggestion based on it working in a similar situation I saw on the forum before. No personal experience. :)

Baatezu is right. This sounds like a caching issue. Remember that there are two places to set caching to zero: In the Module Settings for the instance and for all subsequent modules in the corresponding Module Definitions field. If you are going to create a package, also change the value in the manifest.

Thanks a lot for the note. It was the case. I had made the cache to 0 in the module definition, but It was still 60 for the instance on the page.

But the strange thing is - how come it was working fine when I logged in as admin or host?

Caching is disabled for admins and hosts.
