I know I can, but should I use ImportModule (IPortable) to set module's settings thru a template file (using the content tag)?

 IPortable needs to be specified in module definition manifest, this cannot be turned on and off per module instance.

So I'll turn it ON at the module defenition (I'll have to, if I want to use Export/Import module).

Still the question remains.

 You might not need to in DNN 5.1with the new Templated Modules feature Timo recently mentioned in his blog. If 5.1 is not an option I would certainly use IPortable to import/export settings. In fact, I've doneit quite afew timesalready.

Checked the given link and the DNN 5.1.1 source code - no dice...
