Hi,

My problem is the smtp and port. The smtp works well with my company email address, but if replace the email address to my hotmail or anyother email address, would not work. In order for users to use the contact us module, the email should function but it doesnt. I need to replace email address with my clients in order for the user and the client to communicate.

can someone please tell where did i go wrong. thanks.

nitha.

Cheers, Nitha

It depends on the setup of SMTP server, whether the sender needs to be from web server domain. If you cannot change this setting, use the "ReplyTo" feature and specify the sender address as a portal address. the recipient will get an email from e.g. feedback@mydomain.com and when re uses "reply"  feature of the browser, the user's email address is used for "To" in the new message created.
