Hello,

I have noticed that complex query are not executable, it seems to me that dnn have a 30 seconds query timeout limit. I got the same error when I search for posts in this forum:

Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.

Is there a way to bypass this limit?

Thank you

That's ADO.NET's command object timeout which defaults to 30 seconds. I am not sure if DNN let's you modify it through a setting. If not, I suggest you modify the timeout in the source and compile it.

due to the fact that usually no user is willing to sit in front of your web site, waiting long for the results, I suggest to process this asynchronously or use likewise techniques, depending on your use case.

Hello Sebastian,

the query I have to launch returns only 1 row (it is a view with complicated operations), so I don't think that processing asynchronously will solve my problem...

In fact I haven't seen any setting in the web site configuration pages. Re-compiling it's hard, because everytime I have to upgrade DNN, I have to re-compile the DNN core...
