I can only debug if I use VisualStudio2008 to Open -> WebSite -> From Local IIS.  If I just do Open -> WebSite -> From File System my stop points do not work and I get the error "can not load symbols".  Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening and, more importantly, how I can resolve this issue?

Here's what I did to get to this point:

• Downloaded and extracted DNN Install Package
• Set everything up, site's working fine running under XP, IIS, connected to SQLServer 2005.
• Custom modules developed in C# under DesktopModules/CustomDir, modules working fine.

When I open the site from the filesystem it spins up the VisualStudio webserver, when I open from IIS, it uses IIS.

I've tried running (F5) after opening from filesystem, then actually opening the site from iis rather than my VS webserver and it still doesn't debug.

Problem solved..

Solution:

Right click the website -> Properties -> Start Options -> Server select Use Custom Server and for the BaseURL put:  http://localhost/dotnetnuke (or the name of your virtual directory created under IIS)
