Hi,

I've developed a jquery module which only works when its in host mode, the module invokes a webservice from a separate dll. I've noticed when logging on as Host I can see the following cookies language, authentication, asp.net_sessionID and portalalias however when I log on as a user I can see the forms based cookie as well as the others.

As a normal user I can see a 302 error and then a log off, I thought it had something to do with the service, but logging on as host works fine without logging the user off.

Thanks in advance.

DotNetNuke supports virtualised portals that each have their own user and roles, so the core needs to detect if a .net mapped call goes outside a portal request so it can determine if a change of portal has occurred and automatically expire the data (this does not apply to host as they have access to all portals). To ensure your request (presumably to an aspx/asmx page) does not cause this, ensure you pass either the portalID or tabid (from which the system will determine the portalID) as part of your request.

Hi Cathal,
Thanks for your response, however the jquery that I'm using points to a handler, the handler accepts a querystring, are you saying that i should be passing a portal ID to the querystring at all times?

Thanks

if the handler is hosted within the same website then yes you must pass a portalid/tabid, if it's external to the site you don't need to.

Hi Cathal, Even when i pass the portal ID in, it still logs me out. The handler is hosted within DNN however the handler just reports back a 302 error and logs me out. Thanks
