Hi,

I've noticed that most .ascx skin pages don't have <body></body> hard coded. Typically there is no <head></head> either.

When I inspect element typically I will see <body id="Body"></body> in the browser inspector. However if I view source, I don't see the body tags rendered at all. So I am confused about the body tag. Can someone explain?

A skin might contain a complete HTML page, but only the content of the body is used by DNN, the page is created from default.aspx.

Default.aspx in the root of the installation contains most of the page elements.
The skin ascx is what's injected inside the form tag in default.aspx
So a skin.ascx should not contain a <body> or <head> element

Timo, AFAIR a skin may contain a full html page for testing purposes, but only content of the body is injected in the page by DNN.

An HTML skin, but not an ascx.
