Hi all,

I am planning to migrate our documents from Sharepoint to DNN.

I have installed the Core Document Module.

Do I have to upload my documents now using the Filemanager AND then Add them using the documents Module ?

What I have noticed is that If I upload a doc using File manager to a directory called test then it remains there.

If I then use the Document Module and Upload another file and state that I want it uploaded to this test Folder, then the file gets uploaded and appears on the document Module but DOES NOT exist on the file manager..

Are these 2 seperate entities ie: the File Manager and the Document Module.

What is the best procedure for me to go with...I don't want a 2 step way that I have to upload to the file manager and then Add this using the Document Module ..

Any help appretiated..

Ray

Hi Ray,

The documents module displays a link for files stored in the file store - the same one that is used in the file manager.  For a single-step process, you can upload files in the "add document" page.  But make sure you click the "upload" link - just clicking browse and selecting the file will show it's name on the screen, but to actually upload the file you must click "upload".  If that's not the problem you are experiencing, let me know (it's just a common issue - I do this myself a lot).
