In module settings, give "view" rights to the security roles you want to allow to add documents. You will also need to create a folder using the DNN file manager and set the rights appropriately on that folder.

I'm having the same problem and the recommeded "fix" doesn't seem to work. I've created a new role called Editors. I've granted Editors "view/edit" to the Documents module and "read/write" to the upload folder... but I can't seem to get the "Add New Document" link to appear for Editors. Only if I give Editors "view/edit" to the page, does the link appear. However, edit access to the entire page is not desired... only add new documents. Any suggestions? RjZ

i am a bit confused by this also.

Have a assigned edit access to a document module to a particular role.

The same role only has view access to the page.

How do I get the upload new file link to show for the users in that role?
