Does the module support Responsive skins?

Documents module has no template feature, you should use Form And List module (dnnfnl.codeplex.com) with custom XSL, which allows you to assign any CSS you like or need.

Sebastian, You make as very flexible suggestion, but unless you have XSL style already built along with a customized control to edit the list isn't that like using a sledge hammer on a gnat? Is the Community now discouraging the use of one of its own extension modules? Is Mitch Sellers no longer managing the project or moderating this forum?

Form and List is creating XML, you may use XSL to format it appropriately.
For generation XSL, FnL has a simple HTML generator and HTML to XSL converter built in, i.e. you just would need to add your styles.

In case there are others who would like this questioned answered... I have determined myself that the simple HTML constructed by this control does in fact work with a responsive skin and reflows as one would expect. And, while the control does not use templates it does add class references allowing you effectively skin the control with a line or two of CSS in your skin.css file. This control appears to be quite effective at providing a simple list of downloadable documents that also is very easy to use. I would however still like a couple of questions answered:

1) Why would the community discourage use of this control? and

2) Is Mitch Sellers still responsible for the project?

Anyone? Mitch you out there some where?
