I have succesfully installed v4.3.4 on my XP workstation using both SQLExpress and SQL 2005.  I am testing the documents module to see if there are any other file types other than PDF where the link function doesn't open properly as discussed in numerous threads.  My problem is that when I click on either the document link or the download link for any file types that I have uploaded (Word, Excel PDF, etc) all I get is an ASP.NET logo in the upper left corner of the browser window.  I did not have this experience when I was testing the website with SQLExpress.  Is this a permission issue that I missed with SQL 2005 or is there another explanaion.  All other modules that I have tested so far seem to work as expected and .aspx pages load ok.

Any thoughts?

Oscar

The asp.net logo is in the root directory of a default dnn installation - and would be the result of you adding a document without selecting the file it applies to (the aspnet logo is the alphabetically "first" thing in the root, so it's the "default" selection).

If I had to guess, I'd say you created a new document, clicked "upload new file", selected your file to upload and then clicked "upload selected file", and then didn't click update?

Anthony,

thanks for the reply.  I thought I had done the proper steps but perhaps I did not because not it is working.

Hi Oscar,

Was your last post that said "not it is working" meant to say "now it is working"?
