Hi,

I'm running a DNN 3.1.1 with using the documents module. After a server move the download link is broken. However I can successfully download documents by clicking on the name of the document (another link). I tried adding a new module to the page but that also fails.

Thanks in advance for your precious help.

Leif

Some more information on this :

The link generated when clicking the download link (This one is not working) __doPostBack('dnn$ctr1194$Document$grdDocuments$_ctl2$lnkDownload','')

The link generated when clicking the name of the document (this one works) http://www.epicure-tech.com/LinkClick.aspx?link=plan.jpg&tabid=530&mid=1194

In theory the two links above should be identical but for some reason the one generated for the "Download" link is not the working.

Thanks in advance

Leif

Sounds like ASP.NET (or at least the scripting part of it) might be broken.  Log in to your server, go to a command line and enter:

  c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_regiis -i   (for .NET 1.1)

or

  c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis -i   (for .NET 2.0)

Then try visiting you page again (make sure you use CTRL-F5 to force a cache refresh)

Thanks for your reply Anthony,

I'm on a webhost4life server so if I understand you correctly I'd have to ask support to do this for me ?

Thanks

Leif

If you are on webhostforlife, then it's unlikely that ASP.NET is broken.  Try switching on script debugging in IE (that is, un-check the "Disable script debugging" option in Internet options->advanced) & see if an error message is displayed.  It's difficult to help when we don't have any error message to help determine the source of the problem.
