I'm using DNN 4.3.5
Module version: 03.01.05

When some of my users attempt to download a pdf file from the Documents module it only downloads a portion of the file and of course the file is damaged and can't be opened.

These are the facts I have so far.
I can download the same pdf file and send it to them via email and they can open it.
They can download other pdf files and view them on the internet.
They are using Acrobat 7.0 and internet explorer 6. I"m using Acrobat 6.0 and IE 6.0
The file size is about 876.3 KB
The files were uploaded witih the Module.
I created another document module instance with the same results.
They are on a dialup and I'm on comcast.
I lengthened the timeout but it didn't help. Their login is not timing out.

I saw a similar post here

Any ideas?

Tim

There have been a lot of problems (in the core, not in the documents module) with PDF downloads (and I've lost track of which DNN version that they were fixed in, so I can't remember whether 4.3.5 was affected).  There's even a problem in DNN 4.4.0.

Your best bet is to wait for DNN 4.4.1 and give that a try.  It's got a couple of changes that I'm running successfully on my site, and all seems ok.

I have also seen a post on the Adobe forums relating to the latest version of Acrobat reader and its potential for mangling files with spaces in the file name in some circumstances.

Any idea when DNN 4.41 will be released?

it's just gone to the platinum benefactors. As it's a bugfix/stabilisation release if all is well it will be released in 7 days.
