Hello,

It seems like EditURL still returns just the normal URL of a module control, which v. 6 seems to open without the popup window. Does anybody know what you call to get the url to set to a link so a control opens in the popup window?

Thanks,

Mike

If you Google for PortalSettings.EnablePopUps you'd find many hits on DotNetNuke's svn source code. One that stands out is: DesktopModules\Admin\Tabs\Tabs.ascx.cs

Chris Paterra anticipated questions such as this so wrote the following Blog post concerning modal pop-ups:

AFAIR you can also force it on controls that are not set to use popups via the UrlUtils.PopUpUrl method but the correct behaviour is to set it in your manifest (that way you've confirmed that youve tested that your module works as expected with popups - rather than the core making a possibly invalid assumption). Note: in early betas we did make this assumption but there were enough oddities in 3rd party modules for it to be wiser to default to off.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the tips - I got it worked out with the ShowPopups setting. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to use popups - but I guess that'll just be normal.

Thanks,

Mike
