Am I the only one that is trying to use printing module function in dnn 6.0?
Could someone else please confirm that can or cannot print module as a normal user?

If nobody has this issue means that:
1. nobody is using print module function or
2. printing problem issue is only my problem and I have to figure it out on my own.

Thanks

Hi Emil,

I usually have module printing disabled but I do sometimes need it, so I did a test with both the Dark Knight skin and my usual thrid-party skin.

Enabling Print in Dark Knight meant that I could print from the Manage menu but it doesn't display a print icon within the module itself (whether logged in as a superuser or normal user) and I could not therefore print as a normal user.

Enabling Print in my other skin does display a print icon within the module when logged in as a superuser but it does not display when logged in as a normal user, so again could not print.

So no, you're not the only one but Cathal has already stated that this will be looked at once DNN 6.0.1 is finalised, so I think it's a case of being patient.

I'm having the annoying issue,too .
I've tried to add the actionbutton into the container. The icon then appeared for admins but not for others. And even worse, the manage button disappeared. My customers need printing functionality and heres my little dirty hack I've added while I'm waiting for the bug fix.In the container file (e.g. PageTitle_red.aspx) add the following line within h1 tag:

<a href="<%=(DotNetNuke.Common.Globals.NavigateURL(PortalSettings.ActiveTab.TabID, "print", "mid=" & CStr(Me.ModuleConfiguration.ModuleID)) & "?SkinSrc=%5bG%5dSkins%2f_default%2fNo+Skin&ContainerSrc=%5bG%5dContainers%2f_default%2fNo+Container").Replace("ctl/print", "dnnprintmode/true")%>" target="_blank"><img src="/images/print.gif" border="0"/></a>

that will add a print icon in every container

good luck
Ueli

Here's a solution which utilizes the Allow Print indicator in Container Settings to activate/deactivate the print icon.

Work in dnn 6.2. I placed the code in a specific container.

Hope this helps.
