In prior version of DNN, if you put a favicon.ico in the portal directory (i.e. /Portals/0/), DNN would automatically pick it up and link to it properly. With DNN6, that is no longer the case. We did find in site settings where you could select (and upload if needed) the favicon, but it seems that if you have a favicon.ico in your portal directory, it should automatically associate this.

Also, we found that we had to do a folder synchronization in order to get the favicon.ico to appear in the dropdown, not sure why.

We found that the Auto Syncronize did not seem to happen correctly after the upgrade.

Never got to the bottom of it at the time - as we were dealing with other issues like the file manager being broken and not even able to manually Sync.

But given that the setting in admin uses the new file provider I can understand that it would not see an old favicon.ico in the root.  The file provider looks for files from the portal level down by default.
