 I've created my SQL Server 2005 database.

I edited the web.config file.

I've copied the files and setup IIS.

When I try to launch default.aspx, I get the error below.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

 I have also set the

<customErrors mode="Off"/>

In the web.config file.

And I still get the same error

 I am using an IP address for

 connectionString="Server=192.168.4.3; ...

Is that OK?

please check that you don't have 2 customErrors definitions in your web.config - setting it to Off (note:it's case sensitive) really should show you the error. You can use connection strings via IP addresses as well so that's unlikely to be your error. Its probable that you haven't edited the web.config correctly (e.g. left some comment characters in) making it invalid and thats the issue. I often find that if I copy the web.config and rename it webconfig,xml and open it in Internet explorer that will highlight if there is a validity error.

 I found 2 places containing customErrors mode.

I set both to Off - using a capital O and small ff.

I still get the same error.

Thanks for trying to help!
