I'm not sure if this is where I'm suposed to post this, but, I want to use DNN for my company's websites.  Right now, we are using SQL 2000 in production.  We have one server with SQL 2008, which I'm using now for testing DNN.  SQL 2008 has been approved for production, but I'm not sure when that will be implemented.  If I install the community version onto our webserver and then use a separate server (with the SQL 2008), I should be able to start creating websites.  Is there a way that when we implement SQL 2008 in production, that I can move the DNN database and all the websites, info, etc that I create on the test server to the live/production server?  Basically, I want to start making websites soon, but may not have the sql version we need right away.  when we do get the correct sql version, is it doable to move everything over to that production one?

Moving a database is pretty straight forward, you simply backup the existing database and restore it on the new server. You will need to configure the SQL user permissions for the newly restored database, then modify the two connection strings in the web.config file of the website to point to the new database server and the new database name using the new user information you defined.
