I've been handed admin rights to an existing business website. The person that installed DNN left this company several years ago. I have the admin login and password, but that's about it. I have a couple of questions:

1. I'm trying to figure out which version of DNN is installed, I suspect it is a very old version as it is quite buggy. How can I find out? I don't even know if it's a professional or community version.

2. I want to install new modules, I've gone through alle pages under 'admin' but have found nothing even remotely connected to this. How can install new modules?

I probably have to make a new site, as I feel like I really don't have full control over it. That's probably going to take awhile, so in the meantime I have to make do. HELP!!!!!

I can't find any way to delete my post, but this has been resolved. Luckily the 'host' password was the same as the admin one. (Just that no one told me there was a host account).

Start with a copy of the "DotNetNuke 5 User's Guide" by Chris Hammond and Patrick Renner.  It's an easy read and will get you started nicely.  There are some other books that provide more detailed information and you'll probably want to look for them, too.
