Hello,

I uploaded a file to the root of the website called analytics.txt and I am getting a 404 Error. There are other .txt files in that directory that are loading fine, such as robot.txt and urllist.txt, there's even a test.txt file which is loading. For some reason the analytics.txt file is not loading. It only has one line and yes, I'm sure I'm spelling it correctly. Any ideas why this may be happening?

Thanks in advance,

Lee

It may happen by 2 reasons: 1) You actually hasn't this file in the folder (sometimes people copied file in the wrong folder) 2) You has some UrlRewriter extension that blocked this url. Please make sure that you correctly copy file and try to rename it. I think it can help you configure the problem.

Check our dnn modules and dotnetnuke skins to see where you can start.

also check the permissions on the file. You can compare it to the other txt files that do work and see if anything is different. You could also use the modules in DNN to offer up files. The HTMLmodule works well to link to files in the portals folders, Repository and documents modules work well as well.

Thanks,

The file is in the FTP root which is the root folder of DNN. There are other files in there which are loading correctly. Basically i can load any file in root, when i try to browse it, so i'm pretty sure it's in the right place. The file permissions are the same as well. I'm still at a loss.

If the root of the DNN installation is not the document root, how do we determine that w/in the control panel?

Thanks in advance,

Lee
