Hi. I am new to DNN and there is probably a very easy solution to my problem. I have been trying to place a link beside the website logo on top of the menu. Which files do I need to work on to achieve this? I was also wondering if there was a way to put a text in place of the website logo. I also have a chat module that contains javascript codes, and I want to place this module in the website logo area as well. Basically, I want to access the logo area, but not for images. I want to put text, link, and modules there. Thank you very much for your help.

you need to modify the skin file, which is located inside /portals/_default/skins/[skinname] or /portals/_default/0/[skinname] (for portal 0). Edit [skinname].aspx directly or [skinname].html, which gets converted into [skinname].aspx, when you run "parse Skin package" command for this skin inside DNN Admin :: Skins menu item.

If you are using the default dnn skin then you will find a "logo.ascx.vb file inside admin\Skins folder. Also you will find a NavigateUrl code step is used to navigate to Home page. Here you can modify navigate url as per your requirement. It is also having code to navigate to parent host portal if site having multiple portal.

please note: modifying core code is not suggested, I suggest either creating your own skin object or integrate the changes directly into the skin source code.
