It seems that when you create a new portal and assign it an alias, you can't access the portal until you've added a default  page but you can't add a default page until you access the portal.   What is the normal procedure for creating a new portal and adding pages to it?

Thanks
Steve

My experience has always been that a default home page is created when a new portal is created. Once the new portal is created, just visit an alias used and the default page loads. Is this not happening for you? If not, what's happening instead?

Thanks David for responding. The problem was that I left out the step of telling my hosting provider to link the portal alias to the main DNN site. I thought I just needed to point the DNS servers to the hosting provider and then set up the portal alias in DNN to accept the request. Thanks, Steve
