Is it possible and if so what are the best practices for moving a DNN site from one server to another. My specific example is I've developed a DNN site on my personal IIS server, running SQL Server and all that, but might want to move it to a hosted environment. Not quite sure what the safe steps would be.

Thanks,
Steve

I have a few blog posts on this available at http://www.mitchelsellers.com/blogs.aspx.

But the basic story is this.

1.) Add the alias that will be used once it is moved
2.) Backup the database and site
3.) Restore the site files to the server
4.) Restore the database and setup a SQL User
5.) Update web.config
6.) Configure IIS
7.) Done!
