One thing that seems to be missing from DNN is a simple database function. Suppose, for example, I just want to store applicant names and data into a database that I can easily update later with new information, or print out using logic that prints out certain data depending on previous data (if the applicant was not arrested we don't need to display the link to a document explaining the arrest. This would be easy with PHP, but is there any way, withing a DNN environment, to write and use PHP programs, now that IIS supports PHP?

I've looked at the DNN forms modules, but they seems to all just store a form as a snapshot without allowing access to the data later, other than displaying it or outputting it all as CSV.

Thanks

DNN is built on top of .Net, which cannot be mixed with PHP (at least as far as I know). If you are looking for an easy option to store data, check out form and List module. there are also 3rd party modules with additional features.

Yes, I'm interested in the Form List module but the latest manual for it seems to be 3.5.1 and now the module is at 5.1.3, so it hardly seems worth reading.  Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Lee Sykes has done a tutorial yet on it.

You mentioned that there were some third party modules that had similar functionality and did even more.  Could you give me a couple of names?

Thanks,
Steve
